Gary Pretty, Technical Strategist at leading digital agency Mando, has recently been awarded the Microsoft Most Valued Professional (MVP) accreditation for his expertise in the emerging fields of AI and the Microsoft Bot Framework. This prestigious award celebrates the depth of Gary’s specialist knowledge and distinguishes him as one of two people awarded the MVP award for their expertise in the Bot Framework globally.
Microsoft’s MVP programme recognises industry experts dedicated to driving technology forward with their passion for their dedicated area. Gary has consistently demonstrated his technical prowess and valuable contribution to the Microsoft ecosystem in emerging “bleeding edge” technology. As a longstanding member of the Microsoft community he, with the support of the Mando team, founded the developer conference “Stacked”, and has been blogging and vlogging to share knowledge and regularly speaks at events, all key aspects of the MVP status.
Gary has been busy leading a number of Mando innovations including a variety of ChatBot projects. Notably, the infamous Timesheet Beer Fridge has been brought to life with a ChatBot interaction (info here: http://mando.agency/blog/2016/video-blog-the-mando-timesheet-fridge/), and work is underway for client website ChatBots.
The award represents a great personal achievement for Gary. Not only does it acclaim him as a leading authority in his field, he joins the ranks of the experts he himself has looked to over the years as a source of inspiration, knowledge and learning. Microsoft rewards MVPs with early access to Microsoft products, direct communication channels with Microsoft product teams and an invitation to the Global MVP Summit, an exclusive annual event hosted in Microsoft’s global HQ in Redmond USA.
Gary reflected on his achievement, “I’m delighted to have received my MVP award from Microsoft. It’s something that I’ve been working towards for a number of years now and it’s fantastic to have my experience validated by Microsoft. I’ve always looked to other MVPs for advice and inspiration, so I’m honoured to finally be one!”
Matt Salmon, Head of Development at Mando, said: “This award is testament to Gary’s passion for Microsoft technologies, combined with his enthusiasm and commitment to sharing his knowledge with fellow developers in the wider community. For Mando, it further recognises our role as digital leaders who understand emerging technologies, and how our clients can use them to improve their customers’ experience interacting with their brand. I couldn’t be happier for Gary.”
