Designival, the biggest design festival in the North, is proud to announce that the world-renowned New York-based designer Lance Wyman to headline its two-day festival.
Wyman, who rose to fame after designing the Mexico 68 Olympics logo, will fly in from NYC as keynote speaker at the event, which takes place on November 22 and 23 in Liverpool.
This year marks the largest event in its history, with an anticipated 500 creatives from across the UK attending two days, packed with events across the city. Attendees include some of the largest creative companies in the north, attracting some of the biggest names in design world as speakers.
Now in its fifth year, it is already established as one of the main events in the UK design calendar.
Aimed at bringing together design professionals, design buyers and students to celebrate the vibrant design community in the North West, this year Designival is expanding into a more global and engaging celebration of design – with the addition of a host of events and sessions aimed at showing the best and most innovative ideas to an audience that goes beyond just design professionals and becomes a true festival of creative thinking.
In collaboration with various organisations, including recognised national industry design bodies D&AD and DBA alongside Creative Review, Merseyside ACME, Design Initiative and Liverpool John Moores University, previous events have attracted some of the industries biggest names including James Bull (Moving Brands), Adrian Shaughnessy, Jonathan Kirk (Up to the Light), Ann Rimmer (North West Head for the DBA, Clock Creative), David Palmer (Love), Chris Conlan (Love), Michael Wolff (Michael Wolff & Co), Andy Chambers (Digit), Peter Mills (The Team), Ian Thomspon (Thompson Brand Partners), Matt Pyke (Universal Everything) Bruno Maag (Dalton Maag), Richard Scholey (Elmwood).
Other keynote speakers include Simon Manchipp of the award-winning London based design practice SomeOne and creator of the iconic sports pictograms for London 2012.
Taking place on November 22nd across Liverpool and on the 23rd at the coolest new venue in the city Camp And Furnace, Designival will feature keynote sessions from both Lance and Simon as well as a design-themed breakfast with guest speaker, masterclasses from Liverpool creatives Apposing, Milky Tea and Uniform as well as studio tours, an architour (in association with RIBA), networking, exhibitions, portfolio surgeries, and an after-party running well into the night.
